Avoid Dating Exhaustion
Written by Rodney Petersen Thursday, 10th December 2009
For some single people being single is tough to handle, being single can be hard work and it wears us out. Its possible for some to reach a point where the dates and dinners, time in the bars make you feel like you don't want to go on. There are just too many flaky people and bad experiences. At this point you may be suffering from dating fatigue but it isn't only you in that position. To avoid dating fatigue, decide on what you need, who you want to meet and then try to stick to it. Do you have just a few high quality dates each month with true potential partners or do you date every available person you meet. Of course you should know that the latter will bring on dating fatigue.
One problem that can leads to dating stress is when communication breaks down. What I mean is lying about personal issues, for example by telling the other person things that they want to hear. This is intended to win them over and it may in the short term, but eventually the truth must come out. Many time people do this as they don't feel happy about themselves. They want to be something other than their real self. They intend on impressing but in taking this approach, people exclude themselves from dating success. Why...? Because when they realize that you have been lying, then its all down hill from there.
Most of us make a mental list of the ideal person and when it doesn't work out frustration sets in. After we find that the people we date don't really meet our ideal perception of what we want, we begin to feel drained of the whole process. At times it's best to recharge our batteries before rejoining the dating world. Be prepared for this cycle to repeat itself over and over, time and time again. There are some, who are lucky in love and they will probably not be reading this, but most of us need to take a strategic approach. We are on a mission to find someone to love, so expect to get worn out, be prepared to feel disappointed and pace yourself. Try to enjoy the dating process; eating out going to parties can be a plus in itself. For your own sanity, focus on quality rather than quantity.
I think that the way we all should deal with dating fatigue is simple: take some time off, and then go do something completely different, begin a new sport or hobby and enjoy the important simple pleasures in life. This will be easier once you unplug and stop thinking about Mr.or Ms.Right. In doing so you may be happily surprised who you meet. Just remember, even though it's a numbers game, dating is supposed to be fun..If you want to read any more dating thoughts or advice then come visit us at... www.dating-relationship-tips.com

Be Prepared for that Special Person
Written by Rodney Petersen Tuesday, 8th December 2009
No matter how much experience you have had with dating, we could all use some ideas and tips to make the process more enjoyable and successful. Even wealthy and powerful people have been known to hire relationships coaches. So being humble minded in this area is a good thing. Its not always easy to attract the types of people we want. And then to further help make the initial chemistry bloom into a lasting relationship it can take alot of time and energy.
Definitely there are no magic formulas, no slick and smooth ways of luring that special person. However there are some essential facts that you should always bear in mind. Tips on dating are jus tips, they are not a perfect recipe for success just ideas to help you gain some thoughtful insight, and you are responsible for your own journey. Different tactics will work for different people.
Get prepared for dating!
Dating can be an approach of meeting many people to find the right one. If you really want to meet people, put thought into it. Do some research and think about what you want out of the process. Make a plan so you don't have to date often but instead date smart to meet who is a best match for you. Prepare yourself for the rejection we all face at some point and be ready to not to give up. Also something important to those looking for a long term relationship is to never make yourself too available. People like mystery and intrigue, the process of getting to know one another. The intrigue of the chase can be one of the most interesting parts of getting to know someone. As part of keeping up the mystery, do not sleep with your date early on. The longer a person is made to chase and fall for you, the more likely that true love may blossom and become something enduring. If chemistry peaks too early, your emotions may never catch up and the relationship will eventually fade away before it was able to mature
Begin a physical regime of looking your best. Give yourself a good look over and make a list of things you want to improve. Then work to fix all the things you have noted. Join a gym, get fit and start a diet. Get your hair cut or freshly and make sure to be well groomed. These things might not get you a date, but they changes will enable you to feel much more confident.. Get your image right, don't try to be someone fake of course, but magnify your positives. Donate those 10 year old shoes, jeans, and old shirts and put some style into your look..
Decide what you want to gain from dating in what timeframes you want to get there. If you see your self being married in 3 years time, then approach dating with a game plan to get there. If you are more relaxed and don't take dating too seriously then think to yourself why you are dating and what you hope to accomplish. If it is only for sex then be honest with those you hope to date.
Target those that you have a good chance of dating. Your dating outlook is based on the package you present, as well as just your personality. If you want to date someone trendy and gorgeous, no problem! Just know that other potential dates will expect you to be the same.
The main thing is to enjoy dating for what it is, just dating. It is not to be taken to seriously until it gets to a serious point. At first it's just meeting people, hopefully in a relaxed manner. Most people have something interesting to offer, the question is how can you express it in a positive and interesting way. While you may not be active in the dating scene looking for new friends, you may well find one or two great people along the way.

Online Dating
Written by Maxine Clark Sunday, 25 June 2006
Making the best of your online dating experience depends largely on what you do. Like everything in life you have choices when you visit a site and what type of site you select to "go shopping" for a potential partner. What type of information you place on the site in terms of quality of image and how much time you spend on your profile information. Online dating is much like anything else in life you get back if you put in. if your looking for a potential partner online for sex, romance, love or friendship you should put in the effort. Most people can spot a rushed profile description a mile off and will simply move on to the next profile. Also consider using an up to date quality image of yourself, bad pictures almost always equal bad results online. Women in general can get away with much more in terms of poor quality profiling because guys will tend to make contact regardless.
Use current up to date information always! No exceptions, why put up a 10 year old picture of yourself? Fake or dated misleading information serves no one, if you want to live a fantasy then don't do it at someone else's expense. Go to a role playing type website and practice your self delusion there. Make sure you know what type of site your on - do your research. No use placing an ad or responding to ads on a swingers, gay or lesbian site if your heterosexual, there are plenty of niche dating sites online these days so you don't have to search for long to find something that will suit you.
After you make contact with people don't be afraid to check them out via private chat and even better use the web cam chat rooms so you can in fact see who it is your talking with. Look for some type of profile verification feature on the site and never be in a rush to have a face to face meeting. spend some time to build a relationship online and develop some trust, after you feel at ease then you can move to maybe telephone contact and then personal. Women should be very cautious and don't be afraid to take a friend or two to a first meeting.

Zen of Kids
Written by Aprille Janes Monday, 06 April 2009
I have a bumper sticker over my desk that says 'If it's not fun, why do it?" Wise words by two of the great philosophers of our time - Ben and Jerry. So, with that in mind, how's your joy reserve these days? Racing along at full throttle or stuck in the mud?
Maybe your muse needs to giggle again.
I suggest finding some kids, preferably five or under and get down on the floor with them because play was never meant to be a spectator sport. Jump in with everything you have. Follow the Leader. Knock-knock jokes. Get out the Crayola 64 pack and use every single colour! Make crazy animals with plasticine.
What's the reason behind this zaniness? The opportunity to view the world from a new perspective. Let me share what I learn whenever I let myself play again.
1. Kids don't multi-process.
Kids are the original masters of being in the moment. Whatever has their attention has their FULL attention. They know instinctively how to focus. So let go of your to-do list, your cell phone and the supper menu. Give yourself completely to one thing. Your mind will thank you for the rest.
2. Kids don't worry about product.
Until the adult world gets hold of them, kids don't focus much on end results. They don't build project plans or track their hours on a Palm Pilot. For them it's the joy of the journey, discovery and messing about. Remember that? After all, if you just keep going over the same ground that's a rut, not a highway. True creativity and play only happen when you're not afraid of making a mistake.
3. Kids have no preconceptions.
They delight in the tiniest details. For them it's all new. They have true beginner's mind. So stop letting your brain boss you around. Let go of what you think you know and really look around. When someone learns to draw the first thing they're taught is to draw what they really see, not what they think they see. Open up all your senses to the moment. You'll be amazed at what you discover and your joy quotient will grow exponentially.
Rediscover the bliss of a child. I guarantee the world won't fall apart while you refresh your soul.
